About Gabriel

Gabriel Halpern holds a BA in Philosophy, an MA in Health Psychology, and is a full-time, certified instructor trained at the Iyengar Yoga Institutes in San Francisco and Pune, India. Gabriel has practiced since 1970 and gives workshops nationally. For the past nineteen years he has also been a core faculty member at De Paul University Theater School.

Summer brings the outdoor activities into our lives in a big way. Tara (16) is off to Harlan County, Kentucky on a service project with Margaret. She also gets her drivers license. Kailey (13) is in sports and sleep away camp through July. After that, she plans to chill until school begins again. Margaret is taking some of her well deserved rest and looking forward to a "do nothing" type of vacation. I will be turning 60 and enjoying my new found ability to use my AARP membership and get some discounts around town!

To the whole YC community: Gabriel is celebrating 24 years in Chicago, where his field of dreams in the form of the Yoga Circle, marriage, children, and community has unfolded. Abundant and heartfelt thanks to all who have blessed the YC enterprise and continue to support the vision.
